Urban Connectivity in Malaysia

IJM owns and operates key toll highways within Malaysia, offering vital links between major urban areas and other transportation networks across the Klang Valley. Our urban toll concessions include: BESRAYA (Lebuhraya Sungai Besi), New Pantai Expressway (NPE) and LEKAS (Lebuhraya Kajang-Seremban).

E9 – Sungai Besi Expressway (BESRAYA)

BESRAYA connects the Kuala Lumpur city centre with southern suburban corridors including Putrajaya and Cyberjaya. It links efficiently with major public transport hubs such as Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) and integrates with rail systems including the KTM Komuter, LRT, and the KLIA Express Rail Link (ERL) for multimodal commuting.

E10 - New Pantai Expressway (NPE)

Opened: 2004
Length: 19.6 km
Concession Period: 1996-2057

A key urban expressway in the Klang Valley, the NE comprises the Main Link (Subang Jaya to Bangsar) and the Salak Link (Pantai Dalam to Salak South). It enhances east-west connectivity and links to the North-South Expressway (PLUS) via Jalan Kuchai Lama, supporting efficient access across key city sectors.

New Pantai Expressway Extension (NPE2)

Opening: Expected completion in 2029
Length: 15 km

The NPE 2 is a new link between Pantai Dalam Toll Plaza and Jalan Istana Interchange, aimed at improving inter-expressway connectivity. It will connect the NPE to DUKE 2A and BESRAYA, easing congestion along key roads like Jalan Pantai Dalam, Jalan Bangsar, and Jalan Istana, while supporting future urban growth in the Klang Valley.

E21 - Kajang-Seremban Highway (LEKAS)

Length: 44.3 km
Concession Period: 2006-2064

The LEKAS Highway begins at the Kajang Ring Road and stretches southward to Paroi. It provides seamless intercity travel between Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan, passing through major growth areas including Kajang, Semenyih, Pajam, Mantin, Setul, and Paroi, making it a vital link for regional connectivity.

E32 - West Coast Expressway (WCE)

Length: 233 km
Concession Period: 2013-2073

Spanning from the Selangor State Road B18 junction in Banting to the Changkat Jering toll plaza in Taiping, the WCE is set to be a strategic north-south corridor. With 21 interchanges, it is designed for seamless integration with major highways such as PLUS, SKVE, and KESAS, enhancing mobility and travel planning for long-distance and intercity commuters.

India’s growing population and economic dynamism require robust transport systems. IJM has made significant progress in India’s infrastructure landscape, securing four major toll road concessions under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.

Upgrading the Dewas Bypass in Madhya Pradesh to a four- and six-lane route, improving access and traffic efficiency.

Solapur-Bijapur Tollway

Length: 109.1km
Concession Period: 2017–2037

A comprehensive upgrade of a key segment of the North-South Corridor, including bypasses, bridges, flyovers, and toll plazas.

Notably, IJM India set a national record in 2021 by laying 25.54 lane kilometres of bituminous concrete in 18 hours, recognised by the Limca Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

Making a Mark in Argentina

In 1996, IJM entered into a joint venture through Grupo Concesionario del Oeste S.A. (GCO), a 20% owned associate, to operate the Western Access Tollway. The USD310 million project was awarded a 21-year BOT concession and serves as a critical link for over 3 million residents of Greater Buenos Aires. The 56km highway forms a key route within Argentina’s indigenous road network, connecting commuters to the capital with ease.
