Since our founding in 1983, we have evolved from a mid-sized contractor into one of the region’s most respected construction and infrastructure groups. Our journey began with a merger of three like-minded companies, united by a goal to professionalise and elevate Malaysia’s construction industry. Just three years later, we were listed on Bursa Malaysia. Another significant milestone was the acquisition of Road Builder Group in 2007, enhancing our portfolio with an impressive array of assets including iconic buildings, townships, and infrastructure projects. Over the decades, we’ve consistently and continuously expanded our expertise and earned our place as a trusted partner on high-impact, high-value projects.
Our Core Businesses
As one of Malaysia’s foremost construction players, we deliver across the full spectrum of greenfield and brownfield developments, from nation-shaping infrastructure to urban renewal projects. Our work has redefined cityscapes, with landmark skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur and major public transport lines such as the MRT, LRT, and KTM contributing to seamless urban mobility. Today, we continue to evolve, expanding into high-demand sectors including industrial, logistics, and data centre facilities, aligning our capabilities with the future of built environments and the broader economy.
IJM Land Berhad, the Group’s property development arm, stands among Malaysia’s largest and most recognised developers. Known for award-winning projects in strategic areas, our developments are anchored in the community. From vibrant townships and commercial hubs to luxury high-rises, each address is crafted to elevate quality of life. Our international footprint includes active projects in the UK and China, with an established presence in India and credentials in Orlando, Singapore, and Australia: a testament to our global reach and local relevance.
Driven by Industrial Concrete Products Sdn. Bhd. (ICP), our Industry division ensures a strong, integrated supply chain for our projects. As a market leader in pretensioned spun high-strength concrete piles across Southeast Asia, ICP plays a critical role in supporting regional construction needs, especially in Malaysia and India. Complementing this, IJM IBS Sdn. Bhd. delivers SMART IBS industrialised building systems, offering prefabricated solutions that boost efficiency and precision on-site. Our operations also encompass essential materials such as aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, sand, and scaffolding, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the Group’s value chain.
Through strategic ownership, investment, and operation of infrastructure assets, we generate stable, recurring income while enhancing national and regional connectivity.
Our toll concessions include key expressways in Malaysia such as NPE, BESRAYA, and LEKAS, with ongoing involvement in the West Coast Expressway where IJM Construction serves as main contractor. Internationally, our Build-Operate-Transfer projects include the Dewas and Solapur-Bijapur Tollways in India, and the Western Access Tollway in Argentina, reflecting our global infrastructure credentials.
Kuantan Port, a cornerstone of our infrastructure portfolio, is the “Gateway to the East” as it connects directly to the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and, by 2027, the East Coast Rail Link. With expanded capacity and modernised facilities, Kuantan Port strengthens regional trade flows and underpins long-term economic activity across a vast hinterland.
Today, our multidisciplinary teams deliver across sectors, from iconic towers and integrated townships to national highways, rail networks, ports, and industrial parks. Our integrated approach enables each division to amplify the others: construction supported by in-house materials and precast systems; property development strengthened by infrastructure investment and placemaking insights; and industry innovation that fuels smarter, more efficient ways of building.
